# Accuracy, supported inputs and resource evidence

26 October 2026. Development qualification; near-100% factual accuracy remains an aspirational target. Current deterministic limitations are material and require user review.

The scan is an expected rejected PDF with no annotated facts. PDF differences are seven table-category/relationship errors and two long-name/unclassified-fragment errors; source words remain visible. There are no newly invented words in these discrepancies, but **nine unsupported or mis-associated field claims** remain a factual mapping failure and must not be reported as zero hallucination risk. DOCX's small synthetic exact match is not a population estimate. Employment categories matched 13/14 PDF and 13/13 DOCX; education 12/14 and 13/13, including empty categories. Date and skill per-case results are in the machine-readable reports. Conservative duplicate matching, partial dates, list provenance and source-grounding have separate application regressions; no statistically calibrated duplicate score is claimed.
Review burden: 150 PDF and 149 DOCX proposed field decisions across completed cases; none automatically approved. Human review time/correction burden is NOT MEASURED. No model inference occurred, and synthetic adapter tests count only as integration/security tests.
Earlier attempts remain retained: corpus-01 wrongly styled short DOCX body sentences as headings; evaluator association tests caught swapped bullets for repeated employer/title with distinct dates. The first DOCX final scoring subset was accidentally read using the Windows default encoding; UTF-8 subset `corpus-docx-final-02.json` and `metrics-docx-final-02.json` supersede that invalid score. No extraction or frozen annotation was changed to improve the score.
## Performance and limits
27 sequential actual child conversions on this Windows development host: `extraction-resources-final/resources.json`, measured inside the real interpreter rather than its Windows venv launcher. Wall median 2.283 s (2.051–2.549), CPU median 1.891 s (1.688–2.125), peak working set median 144,257,024 bytes, maximum 146,079,744 bytes. Includes Python/import startup. Earlier `extraction-benchmark-final/resources.json` CPU/memory sampled the launcher only and is invalid for parser resource claims; its wall/input/output measurements remain valid.
Corpus input total 777,032 bytes; parser JSON output total 27,371 bytes. These are document/result disk measurements, **not peak temporary/cache disk usage**. Conversion options disable image/OCR/model artifacts; private work cleanup is covered by tests. Maximum temporary disk, load under concurrent users and upload network timings require broader resource qualification. Do not infer production capacity from these small fixtures.
Current C# interpretation maximum 60.071 ms PDF / 64.377 ms DOCX. Actual MariaDB reviewed apply sample 36.446 ms includes validation, merge, transaction and Identity projection (`provider-review-06/mariadb.trx`); a single sample is not a latency percentile. Final real import browser journeys took 19.6 s / 10.1 s including upload, polling, refresh, review actions, editor and PDF export, not isolated upload latency. Generative model time/VRAM/accuracy are BLOCKED. Reported historical production hardware was not probed or requalified.
Concurrency remains existing admission + one sidecar parser child, bounded worker leases/deadlines, 40-second default conversion deadline, 30-second CPU allowance, 1 GiB POSIX address-space ceiling and configurable bounded limits. Windows wall/process termination is implemented; kernel-enforced Windows memory isolation remains open. See SECURITY.md.

# Security and privacy assessment

26 October 2026. Decision: **CONDITIONAL**, not production security acceptance.

| Boundary / threat | Implemented protection | Evidence / remaining limit |
|---|---|---|
| Upload spoofing/exhaustion | Authenticated entitlement/admission, 5 MiB cap, extension/signature validation, SHA identity, active duplicate reuse, pending/file caps | Backend admission/security regressions; distributed abuse/load qualification open |
| Malicious DOCX | Entry/path/expanded-size/ratio limits, DTD prohibited, XML resolver disabled, bounded XML, reject active/external payloads | Real archive/DTD/security tests; inert http/https/mailto hyperlink text allowed without dereferencing |
| Malicious PDF | Page cap, active/embedded/launch/script content rejection, local native conversion | Inert web/mailto links allowed; binary/native parser vulnerabilities require ongoing patch qualification |
| Parser side effects | Existing private subprocess, stripped environment/private HOME, offline configuration, deny network/process audit hook, timeout/tree termination, one child, POSIX limits | Real native extraction and network-disabled/read-only Linux tests; audit hook is defense in depth, not a native-code security boundary; Windows memory ceiling open |
| SSRF/external AI | Active import is deterministic; optional local adapter disabled, local address restrictions, no proxy/redirect, strict schema | Synthetic adapter tests; no external document transfer or actual model inference |
| Prompt injection/unsupported output | CV text is untrusted data; constrained source references, schema/category/date/token validation; every selected value reviewed | Deterministic injected-text fixture + synthetic adversarial responses; semantic model adversarial qualification BLOCKED |
| Cross-user/tenant access | Existing authenticated principal ownership in run/artifact/operation/profile/source APIs | Unit/provider + browser foreign-owner 404; no alternate tenant key accepted from caller |
| Stale/lost writes | Canonical expected revision, existing atomic transaction/history/children/projection, lease-conditioned publication/status, idempotent apply | Actual MariaDB stale/rollback/idempotency, RD21 regressions; successful response follows durable commit |
| Privacy/retention | Original source private/no-store/nosniff, authenticated blob preview, safe owned paths, bounded sanitized parser errors, cleanup retry and reparse/root checks | Retention/orphan/cancel/expiry tests; account export/delete reuse existing owners |
Original import files and extraction evidence last up to seven days (one day for failed/cancelled/discarded work), plus up to the hourly sweep interval while the application is running. Startup sweep catches expired work after downtime. Pending work is revoked before deletion; failed deletion retains the reference for retry. Original source becomes unavailable after expiration. Approved canonical facts, review history and approved evidence snippets follow existing account-retention/deletion policy; they are not silently deleted with the temporary source. Operators must account for normal backup retention separately.
No production services, Docker configuration, MariaDB schema, filesystem, model cache, Ollama model or deployment was changed. Test containers use owned disposable identities and synthetic documents. Test service port is loopback-only. New dependencies were installed only into isolated development runtimes and hash-verified wheel contexts. Current dependency checks: npm 881 dependencies / zero reported vulnerabilities, NuGet API no reported vulnerable packages, CV-import Python lock 48 dependencies / zero skipped / zero reported vulnerabilities. Evidence: `.artifacts/cv-import/{npm-audit-01.json,dotnet-audit-01.json,pip-audit-01.json}`. Advisory queries are point-in-time checks, not proof against all vulnerabilities.
Inherited legacy Python/model/cache advisory qualification, production filesystem integrity, off-disk backup/recovery and hosted-provider isolation remain unresolved or unverified. New slim lock auditing does not close those gates. The current local AI adapter is a tested seam and remains disconnected from active processing until isolated model qualification can establish relationship grounding, compatibility and privacy controls. No permanent general-purpose model is selected.

# Synthetic CV benchmark
This corpus contains invented people/organisations and exhaustive canonical annotations. Six development and eight frozen logical cases produce 14 PDFs and 13 DOCX files (the scan has only PDF). Keep actual frozen documents and `manifest.json` together when comparing models; DOCX ZIP timestamps mean regeneration is not a claim of byte identity. Never tune on the frozen set and then describe it as unseen.
Generate into a new directory with a Python environment containing ReportLab, Pillow, python-docx and pypdf:
```powershell
python docs/cv-import/benchmarks/generate.py --output .artifacts/cv-import/corpus-new
python -m unittest discover -s docs/cv-import/benchmarks -p test_*.py -v
```
For each manifest document invoke the real bounded parser using the separately installed, hash-locked Docling interpreter:
```powershell
python tools/summarizer/parser_child.py --input CASE.pdf --output CASE.pdf.extracted.json --extension .pdf --mode document --cpu-seconds 30 --memory-bytes 1073741824
```
Exit 2 with `no_text` is the expected scan rejection. Execute sequentially in the same offline/private environment as the service. Do not replace these results with synthetic model responses. Build and run the C# harness against the resulting directory:
```powershell
dotnet run --project docs/cv-import/benchmarks/harness --configuration Release -- EXTRACTIONS pdf FRESH-PDF-RESULTS.json
python docs/cv-import/benchmarks/evaluate.py --actual FRESH-PDF-RESULTS.json --output FRESH-PDF-METRICS.json
```
Repeat for `docx`, supplying a UTF-8 annotation subset containing only IDs with actual DOCX fixtures via `--corpus`. Use `--split development` or `--split frozen` for separate summaries. The evaluator keeps employer/title/institution/qualification/date identity attached to record facts, rejects extra output IDs and counts missing cases against completion. Dates retain original precision; whitespace/case normalization does not equate years with invented months.
Precision/recall count annotated field values with multiplicity and record association. Exact employment/education/skills compare complete categories; a case with no expected records can also match exactly, so these totals are not counts of successfully reconstructed jobs. `unsupportedClaims` includes wrong categories/associations as well as text absent from annotations; report those separately from invented source words. Review burden is the number of proposed field decisions, not observed human correction time. All significant facts require user approval regardless of benchmark score.
Future model runs must use the same frozen manifest, prompt/schema version and oracle, record immutable model/runtime IDs, raw suggestions and rejected claims, and report deterministic/model-assisted stages separately. Real AI accuracy is currently BLOCKED. See ../QUALITY.md and ../CV-QA-01.md.
