# Linux PDF qualification — 24 October 2026

||
**FAIL: P9-REQUAL-PDF01.** Real Linux rendering completed; the unchanged output oracle found geometry and pagination differences. This is a measured functional blocker, separate from physical printing.

Seven failing fidelity fixtures: `long-en-minimal`, `long-nb-code`, `compact-8mm-letter`, `roomy-28mm-nb`, `grid-and-bubbles`, `long-sidebar-nb`, `unbreakable-and-boundary`. The roomy fixture grows from5 to6 pages. All four settings `*-after` fixtures grow from3 to4 pages. Measured positions exceed the unchanged tolerances, with multiple fidelity shifts around5–20mm. No baseline or tolerance was weakened.

The actual local image ID is `sha256:5a1c1e8d08007083ce8ca65f9ded9d7c56c4c84c9f4259cd97df8135b510d0e0`, .NET9.0.21, Debian12 Chromium156.0.8078.47. Windows preview Chromium is151.0.7922.34. Linux PDFs embed DejaVuSans/DejaVuSerif/DejaVuSansMono; Windows fonts include SegoeUI/Arial/Georgia. These differences are observed; a solely font-caused explanation is **not established**.

The owned Linux API ran actual startup migrations against isolated MariaDB12.2.2 (51 migrations before/after). API container, private network and generated schema cleanup all succeeded. Source/process identities and all24 oracle results are indexed by validation.json; raw outputs are in `.artifacts/p9-requal-01/linux/` and `linux-pdf-oracle/`.

An earlier four-case settings failure was a fixture baseline problem: POST returned100ns timestamp precision while durable MariaDB datetime(6) readback truncated it. The fixture now captures a successful independent GET before actions and still compares the entire sibling body strictly afterward. All four affected Windows successors and all five Linux producers passed. That correction does not change documents, API, timestamp handling, migrations or the oracle; it does not close the output failures above.

||
Next bounded work: isolate browser/font/layout causes with these retained failing inputs, review approved font redistribution and document contracts, then repair the narrow rendering/configuration owner and rerun both unchanged corpora plus affected regression. Do not silently substitute typography or approve a new baseline. Physical-device printing remains NOT TESTED; owner card M09-09 remains separate.
